Gometrics offers a new temperature calibrator, more versatile than the previous generation. The T258 meter/generator is a portable instrument with dual function: in addition to being able to accurately read a temperature probe, it is capable of generating resistance or millivolts to simulate Pt100 resistance thermometer type probes or B, E, J, K, N, R, S, and T thermocouples.
It is a robust, easy-to-use tool specially designed for calibrating probes and testing temperature measurement loops.
The simulation function allows to generate the electronic signal equivalent to the temperature value to be simulated. These operations can be performed either in resistance value (Ohm) or millivolts (mV) or directly in degrees of temperature (°C Celsius or °F Fahrenheit), just by pressing the corresponding key at the start of the job. In simulation, the instrument supports pulsed excitation current.
The T258 is compatible with resistive temperature probes type Pt100 according to IEC 385 and IEC 3926 and thermocouples type B, E, J, K, N, R, S and T according to IEC 584-1. The different sensors can be configured through the keypad.
The instrument is equipped with keys S1 to S6 that allow to store in memory six fixed simulation points in order to generate these points in successive jumps automatically using the AUTO key. The cycle is continuously ascending and descending.
This model incorporates a temperature sensor for measuring the cold junction. Its backlit display makes it easy to read in dark environments. In addition, the resolution and accuracy offered by the T258 are excellent, in line with the rest of the instruments in the new Tinycal range.
